Found It!

I found my camera - packed in box with random Tupperware lids.
Why?
I have no idea.

Yesterday I weed-whacked our "seasonal creek" and tried to clear out some dead blackberry brambles.
I also took a few minutes to work on Stella's birthday quilt - I gifted it to her in July and then took it back to finish the quilting.

I also managed to build one block for the block lotto.
I love playing the lotto.  It's a great way to try new techniques.

Here's the block I built.
It's pretty cute!

Now that I have my camera I'll be able to snap pictures of my new little slice of heaven!

Still haven't found the Camera

Okay, so I'm still missing my camera.  I saw it.... somewhere.

We're making progress finding homes for all our stuff.
We have hi-speed internet - We went with a Verizon Mobile Hotspot.  Works pretty well, not as fast as cable, but I'm not gonna complain.

We're having an Open House-Warming in 2 weeks, so we're trying really hard to get everything unpacked and put away.  I'm excited to show off our new home and the surrounding piles of dirt!

I'm sorting through my crafting supplies.  It had been scattered around the old house, shoved into every nook and cranny.  Now that I have a room for sewing, I need to make it all fit in that room.  So, I'm going to have to get rid of some stuff.

Today's goal is to finish sorting the toys.  With 3 kids, all in different stages of playing, we've got a lot of toys. I'm getting rid of broken toys, and finding homes for everything.  It's been a task taking over two weeks, but I'm down to the final  couple of boxes.  I should be able to get through them today.
I've determined I HATE Polly Pockets.  Little Pets aren't much better.

School starts on Sept 7.
All three kids will go to the same school - a small K-8 about 10 miles down the road.
They're all totally excited.
The school does a staggered start, with 4-8 starting on the 7th, and K-3 on the 8th.  Muffin - who's starting kindergarten this fall  - is completely devastated that Miss Mae gets to go to school a whole day earlier.

Life is good.
Things are setting down.
I'm looking forward to September.

Pictures soon - I promise!

wow.
It's been a while.
and I don't even have any pictures to show.

What have I been doing for the last 3 months?

When last we spoke I had just accepted a job stage managing a quick "in-concert" musical.
3 weeks of work.

That went great, and then they asked me to stage manage their big summer musical, which started rehearsing the day after the first show closed.
So, add 8 more weeks of work.  Yeah!
- our final performances are this weekend.

During all this, our new house got finished, and we packed everything up and moved.

I haven't touched my sewing machine since early July.
I think I'm going through withdrawls.
Our garage is still full of boxes waiting to be unpacked and I would feel totally guilty sewing before we were unpacked.

Oh, and last week our washer broke.\
It had had a very loud squeak for a LONG time.
Then, on Sunday it stopped spinning.
A very nice repair man came out and told me it needs a new transmission.  He got me a price for the part,  - almost $300 - but he said that I'd probably be better off buying a new one.

We're in the process of refinancing our construction loan into a mortage - and - as everyone knows, you're not supposed to make any big purchases during that time period.
So, we talked to our mortage broker - who is well aware that we have 3 small kids and that waiting a month to purchase a new washer is just not an option.

I spent time researching washers - and finally made a decision.
Of course, Mr. Chaos is working out of town this week.  My wonderful Dad is going to pick it up from Sears and install it tonight while he's baby-sitting my kids while I work.

Add to all of this the fact that hi-speed internet doesn't exist out here - I have to use the internet sharing feature on my phone - and there you have the reason for my long absence.

Hopefully, I'll find my camera soon so I can start showing off my wonderful new home.  Until then, know that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth - just relocated, and it's taking me a while to adjust.

:)
